Revlon Types

Ideal made dolls by the name of Miss Revlon and Little Miss Revlon. These dolls can be identified by the Ideal Company's markings on their necks. Other companies made dolls similar in size to the Revlons (from 9 or 10 inches to approximately 24 inches), but many were of inferior quality. An Ideal Revlon doll is noticeably heavier than many of the hollow plastic wannabees/lookalikes. A true Revlon doll should be marked appropriately with the Ideal markings. Little Miss Revlon is a 10.5-inch fashion doll that has been copied, cloned, imitated and duplicated by many doll companies. My little one is a Circle P doll, so called because she has a P in a circle on the back of her neck. I don't know for sure who made the Circle P dolls, but I read somewhere that they may have been made by Arranbee (R&B) or Belle.

This last doll photo is my little 14-inch Revlon lookalike. There are fewer of the 14/15-inch Revlons and their lookalikes, so this size is fairly rare.

There are so many different kinds of these dolls that you really need to know some of the essential measurements of the clothing before assuming it will fit your doll -- even if she is the same height as the model. And when you look for one on eBay, keep in mind that many people call them all Revlons -- but they're not.
