The Dolls 14R (Deluxe Reading Fashion Parade Doll)

14R Dolls

14R Deluxe Reading Fashion Parade dollMany fashion dolls of the 1950's and early 1960's are identified with the marking *14R* on the back of their neck. Sometimes they are mistaken for Ideal's Miss Revlon dolls because of the *R*. Ideal did not use such a mark on their Revlon dolls. Many, if not most, of the 14R dolls are rather inexpensively constructed, and were made to meet the demands of the lower end doll market of the era.

My 19-inch *14R* model shown here was manufactured by Deluxe Reading as their Fashion Parade doll. She is one of the more sturdy gals, made of a high quality vinyl, with a twist-n-turn waist. She is wearing a nightgown that is part of her pink peignoir set. In her heyday, she would have had several other outfits and some rather ornate jewelry.

I wanted to give the *14R* dolls their own Web page because they are so often referred to only as Revlon clones (by me as well!) They are beautiful dolls in their own right, and are a wonderful addition to a vintage fashion doll collection.
